Bleeding Heart

There is something about the delicate, colorful and intricate nature of flowers that makes them the perfect subject.

The Bleeding Heart plant, also known as Lamprocapnos spectabilis or Dicentra spectabilis, is a beautiful flowering plant native to Asia. Its unique appearance consists of delicate, heart-shaped pink or white blooms that hang gracefully from arching stems. The foliage is also attractive, with finely divided, fern-like leaves that provide a lovely backdrop to the showy flowers. The Bleeding Heart plant prefers partial shade and moist, well-drained soil, making it an ideal addition to a woodland garden or shady border. It typically blooms in the late spring to early summer and is a stunning sight in any garden or landscape.
